Society6 is transitioning to Trolley, our new earnings payment platform, to provide artists with more reliable payouts and to securely collect required tax documentation.
Why are we switching to Trolley?
We're switching to Trolley to provide artists with a more flexible, secure, and streamlined payment experience. With Trolley, you can:
For U.S. artists: Receive payments through ACH (direct bank transfer), with earnings deposited directly into your bank account automatically. There’s nothing to claim and no additional action required on your end.
Submit your required tax documentation securely in one place.
View your payout history anytime from your Trolley account.
Why am I being asked to create a Trolley account?
All artists who receive earnings through Society6 are required to have a Trolley account.
Your Trolley account is used to:
Manage your payment method
Submit required tax documentation (W-9 or W-8)
View your payouts
All Society6 payments now go through Trolley, including PayPal. Every artist will need a Trolley account to choose their payment method and upload legally required tax documentation.
Do I have to switch from PayPal?
No. We will continue to offer PayPal through Trolley but each artist regardless of payment method will need a Trolley account to select their payment method (ACH or PayPal) and to upload legally required tax documentation.
How do I register?
Visit our secure Trolley portal:

Sign in using the email address associated with your Society6 artist account. You don't need to create a password—Trolley will send you a one-time verification code by email each time you log in.

Do I need to submit tax forms?
Yes.
Federal regulations require Society6 to maintain a valid tax form for every artist receiving earnings.
U.S. artists should complete a W-9.
Non-U.S. artists should complete a W-8.
Trolley will guide you to the correct form based on your country.
If a valid tax form is not submitted, we may be legally required to withhold taxes from future payouts as required by law.
Will my earnings change?
No.
Changing to Trolley does not change how your earnings are calculated.
Depending on your tax status and country of residence, taxes may be withheld when required by law.

Can I keep using PayPal?
Yes. PayPal remains available as a payment option through Trolley.
Do I have to complete my tax forms?
Yes. Tax documentation is required for all artists receiving earnings through Society6. To avoid tax withholding, please complete and submit your tax forms by July 31. If your tax documentation is not received by this deadline, we may be required to withhold taxes at the applicable statutory rate until the required forms are submitted.
What if I don't receive my verification code?
Please verify that the email address you are using matches the one linked to your artist account. Check your spam or junk folder. Verification emails are sent from [email protected].
Can I change my payment method later?
Yes. You can log into Trolley at any time to update your payment preferences.
