Updates to Pricing and Artist Earnings - Effective March 18, 2025

As mentioned in our communication sent on February 3rd, we are standardizing our pricing across all products and removing the ability for Artists to set their own product markup percentages. This will make our products more accessible to the majority of customers and remove pricing confusion. In addition to this change, we are also modifying the Artist earnings structure.

Please see below for some helpful information regarding these upcoming changes:

When will this change go into effect?

  • This new earnings structure will go into effect on March 18, 2025. Society6 will continue to handle marketing, manufacturing, shipping, and customer support.

How Much Do I Earn On the Sale of My Products on Society6.com?

  • Society6 artists earn 5% - 10% of the net sale amount on every product purchased featuring their designs.
    • The artist earning amount is calculated based on the net sale amount of the product(s) purchased. The net sale amount is equal to the customer’s final purchase price of the item(s) after any sales/discounts are applied.
  • Society6 artists will earn 10% of the net sale amount on the following products: pillows (rectangle and square), wall tapestry, framed art (art print, framed art print, and recessed framed print), and posters. For all other products, Society6 artists will earn 5% of the net sale amount.

Will artists still be charged shipping fees?

  • Beginning with orders placed March 18, 2025, artist shipping fees will no longer be deducted from Artist earnings.

How much will I earn on trade, wholesale, and marketplace orders?

  • Trade, wholesale, and marketplace orders will be paid at a 5% net sale commission rate.

How Do I Change The Paypal Email Associated With My S6 Account?

  • Artists can update the PayPal email associated with their account at any time! To do so, make sure that you have an alternative, active PayPal account already set.

Note: there will be a $1 charge from PayPal for each email verification.

Please follow these steps to make the change:

1. Visit your My Account page.

2. Click "Change Verified PayPal Email Address".

3. This will trigger an email to be sent to the existing PayPal email listed on your S6 account. Be sure to check your spam and junk folders.

-If you do not receive an email or no longer have access to your old PayPal email, please contact us here for further assistance.

4. When prompted, log into  your new, updated PayPal account and pay the $1 verification fee.

When Will I Receive My Artist Earnings?

  • Artist earnings are paid via PayPal (between the first and third business day of each month). Once an order has been placed for an item from your shop, it will show up as "pending" in your earnings dashboard. The earning will remain in a pending status until 30 days has passed from when the order was shipped. After that, the earning will be updated to a status of "cleared" and can be expected to be paid out during the following payment period. You may view your pending and cleared transactions on the Earnings page of your account here.

Example: You sell an Art Print and it ships on January 15th. The 30-day grace period ends on February 15th. You will be paid for that sale between March 1st-3rd.

Note: an earning can be cancelled at any time before it is paid to your Paypal (regardless of it being in a "pending" or "cleared" status). If a customer requests to cancel their order for a full refund for any reason before it has hit your Paypal account, the earning will also be cancelled.
