Updates to Society6 Artists Account - December 29, 2025Updated 3 minutes ago

Why are these changes happening?

We’re making foundational updates to Society6 to improve how artwork is discovered, indexed, and shopped. These changes help strengthen SEO performance, simplify the customer experience, and ensure the platform can support future artist tools and growth. While some updates are interim, they’re designed to create long-term visibility and opportunity for artists.

Can I still upload new designs?

Yes. Design uploads remain open, and you can continue adding new work to Society6 during this interim period.

Why can’t I edit my published designs right now?

Editing published designs has been temporarily disabled while we stabilize systems and prepare for the new consolidated Artist Studio launching later this quarter. This helps ensure design data, SEO indexing, and product integrity remain consistent during this transition.

Can I edit my shop or shop name?

At this time editing your artist shop and updating your shop display name are temporarily unavailable. These capabilities will return as part of the new Artist Studio experience.

Why can’t I see my analytics?

Analytics access is temporarily unavailable during this interim period. This allows us to align reporting systems with upcoming platform updates and future artist tools. We know analytics are important and plan to reintroduce them in the new Artist Studio.

Will this affect my earnings?

No. These updates do not impact your ability to earn on Society6.

Can I still see my earnings?

Yes. You’ll continue to have access to:

  • Earnings information

  • Payment history

Will payments continue as normal?

Yes. Payouts will continue uninterrupted and follow the same timing and process you’re familiar with today.

What’s changing with artist shops?

Artist shops are being simplified to improve discoverability and browsing:

  • Shops will transition to a single shoppable collection page

  • Artist About pages and design listing pages will be removed

  • Individual design pages will remain live and discoverable

This structure helps search engines better index artwork and makes it easier for customers to browse and shop designs.

Why remove About pages and design listing pages? (Is this true?)

Simplifying artist shops allows us to:

  • Strengthen SEO performance

  • Improve page authority

  • Reduce friction in the shopping experience

Customers can still discover individual designs, while shops remain fully shoppable in a cleaner, more effective format.

Why are design titles being updated?

We’re working with an SEO agency to optimize design titles to improve search discoverability and follow on-site best practices, including recommended title length. The goal is to make designs easier to find while maintaining their creative integrity.

What’s happening with the Affiliate Program?

We’re upgrading our affiliate program as part of a move to a new platform.

While the current Artist Affiliate link will no longer appear in artist shops, this transition to a new platform allows us to introduce new referral and earning opportunities, along with improved tracking and tools. Once the new platform is ready, we’ll invite artists to join in the new year with full details on how to participate.

Will these changes impact how I get paid?

Not right now. However, later this quarter we’ll introduce a new payment platform, Trolley, designed to:

  • Make tax compliance easier. U.S. tax law requires Society6 to report artist royalties to the IRS and apply backup withholding if tax information isn’t provided. To comply, we collect W-9 or W-8 forms through our payment processor, and any required taxes are sent directly to the IRS (not kept by Society6).

  • Offer additional payment methods, including ACH

  • Improve payout reliability and flexibility

We’ll share clear instructions ahead of this change.

When will the new Artist Studio launch?

We’re targeting the end of Q1 (around March) for the launch of:

  • A new, consolidated Artist Studio

  • Updated payment tools through Trolley

A new login will be required, and we’ll provide step-by-step guidance before launch.

Do I need to take action right now?

No action is required at this time. You can continue uploading designs and earn as per usual.

Where can I get help or ask questions?

We’ll continue to update our Help Center with the latest information. If you need assistance, our support team is available to help.
